NYS State College of Human Ecology at Cornell University

The College of Human Ecology, one of the seven undergraduate colleges at Cornell University, has pioneered the study of human life from a scientific and a social perspective. Using a blend of academic disciplines and a global point of view, our students and faculty use their knowledge to identify, explore, and develop solutions to contemporary human issues. Students learn not only to serve people, but also to understand and analyze the relationships and the institutions that shape their lives.

Students explore liberal arts disciplines including biology, chemistry, economics, psychology, and sociology, and apply their knowledge in many fields such as health, design, nutrition, public policy, and marketing. Human Ecology students use their education to prepare for medical, law or other graduate school programs, while others prepare for careers in business, education, communications, or other fields of health and human services.

The mid-sized college is home to approximately 1,300 undergraduates, 200 graduate students and over 100 full-time faculty. Students enjoy the resources of a large, Ivy League, research university and the advantages of a small school in upstate New York. Many conduct research as undergraduates, and most participate in at least one internship during their time here. Students can also participate in study abroad opportunities, as well as our Capital Semester (Albany, NY) and Urban Semester (New York City) programs.

Visits to campus and the Human Ecology Admissions Office during established times are strongly recommended. Please visit our Web site for more information and a visit schedule.
