Opportunities for SUNY Faculty and Students

The State University of New York (SUNY) Center on Russia and the United States is located at the SUNY System Administration building in downtown Albany, New York, in the Office of International Programs. The Center also has an office at Moscow State University, in the main building of the university, and it will open an office at St. Petersburg State University in 2006, in collaboration with Stony Brook University.

The mission of the SUNY Center is to work with the major universities in the Russian Federation (Russia) to expand and deepen the opportunities in Russia for SUNY students and faculty, and at SUNY for Russian students and faculty. Furthermore, the Center works to enable SUNY and Russian scholars to pursue collaborative research and to share the results of their individual and collaborative work in jointly sponsored conferences.

The Center administers a range of programs to achieve these goals, including the Professional Fellows and Senior Fellows Programs for Russian and SUNY faculty. It works with the University at Albany, Stony Brook University, and other SUNY campuses to strengthen existing student exchange programs and to create new opportunities for students. It works with SUNY campuses in the development of dual diploma programs, online collaboration, conferences, and other special activities.
