Vice Chancellor for Capital Facilities

On July 6, 2009, Philip W. Wood accepted a special assignment from Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher to oversee the Office of Finance and Business during its transitional period.  This assignment has been in addition to his responsibilities as General Manager of the State University Construction Fund and Vice Chancellor for Capital Facilities.

Philip W. Wood was named Vice Chancellor for Capital Facilities November 27, 2007. Mr. Wood is also the General Manager of the State University Construction Fund.

Since 2003, Mr. Wood has served as chief executive officer of the Fund and reported to the Fund Board of Trustees. The Fund manages the funding, planning, design and construction of projects within SUNY’s $3.2 billion Educational Facilities Capital Plan and the $400 million SUNY Hospital Capital Plan.

In his capacity as Fund General Manager, Mr. Wood has led the planning, development, justification and implementation of SUNY’s capital program which is more than double the size of the previous program.

From 1998 – 2003, Mr. Wood served as Deputy Executive Director at the Dormitory Authority.

He earned a Masters of Business Administration at the State University of New York at Albany in 1984, and a Bachelor of Arts at Siena College in 1976.
