Chancellor Zimpher’s Press Conference with SUNY Student Media
Chancellor Zimpher held her first webcast press conference exclusively for student journalists on March 11. The Chancellor was seen by more than 59 individuals at nearly 30 locations (including Florida and Colorado, which makes me hope some diligent journalists were watching while on Spring Break). She answered questions ranging from campus safety, to tuition, to budget concerns, to being the first female Chancellor.
The webcast was moderated by David Belsky, SUNY Student Assembly Director of Communications and Binghamton graduate student. You can watch question-by-question on YouTube or on the SUNY Web site.
Announcing “Research Quarterly” - An e-newsletter about SUNY Research
We are developing a quarterly electronic newsletter that will showcase how SUNY research contributes to New York State’s economic development and how SUNY’s applied research solves today’s problems. Each story will aim to show how SUNY research/technology translates into dollars for the state or the nation and/or how the research is solving a pressing problem. The audiences for this newsletter are state and federal legislators, funding agencies, peer VPs of research, and the media.
The topic of the first e-newslwetter will be Energy. SUNY researchers are leading the way to a smarter, more secure and cleaner energy future through innovative approaches to renewable and alternative fuels, energy production, and energy conservation. Using state-of-the-art facilities and working with strategic partners, faculty scientists are exploring solar, wind, biomass geothermal, micro turbine, fuel cell and other technologies.
Focused on these research areas:
