Undergrad Scholarly Posters-A Call for Campus Participants

This showcase is designed to bring together some of SUNY’s most talented undergraduate scholars with SUNY Administration officials and members of our New York State Legislative delegation and their office staff. The poster session will allow SUNY undergraduates the opportunity to present their research and creative academic projects to a large audience at Albany’s Legislative Office Building.  We hope to create a truly memorable experience for our student presenters and our audience.

To participate, each SUNY campus is asked to self-select up to three undergraduate research or creative endeavor posters that represent a sampling of the breadth of academic work offered at its campus and/or an academic or research specialty that highlights the individual campus.

Carol Donato (518-443-5326/800-547-1548) of the University Faculty Senate office will provide future correspondence regarding logistics.

Fall 2009 Plenary at SUNYIT

Welcome to the University Faculty Senate (UFS) Web site!

The SUNY Board of Trustees approved the creation of the University Faculty Senate on October 8, 1953. Article VII of the SUNY Policies of the Board of Trustees states "the Senate shall be the official agency through which the University Faculty engages in the governance of the University. The Senate shall be concerned with effective educational policies and other professional matters within the University."

The UFS membership consists of the Chancellor of the University, two University representatives having University-wide responsibilities and representatives from each State-operated unit and contract college. This is a total of 33 SUNY colleges. This makes the University Faculty Senate one of the largest faculty governance organizations in the country!

The University Faculty Senate serves as a resource on governance for the University. It serves as a deliberative body on educational policies for the SUNY System. In this capacity it issues publications such as handbooks, directories and reports on matters such as budget, program revision and presidential searches. This Web site is designed to be a repository for documents and information produced by the University Faculty Senate.
