Transfer and Articulation

SUNY is a transfer-friendly institution.

Each year, almost 25,000 students transfer from one SUNY campus to another.  Whereas the majority of students transfer from community colleges to 4-year colleges and universities, many students transfer from one community college to another and even from 4-year institutions to a community college.

SUNY is committed to making every effort to ensure that student credits transfer smoothly and that no student is forced to repeat credit unnecessarily.  Our transfer and articulation process, with its strong presumption in favor of transfer, has been reaffirmed several times by the SUNY Board of Trustees and the SUNY Provost.

For more information on transferring to a SUNY Campus, please visit the SUNY Transfer Web Pages.
